Brady specializes in the interpretation of the Hebrew Scriptures in antiquity, with specific emphasis upon Targumic literature. While his current duties as dean of the Schreyer Honors College prevent Brady from teaching courses in Jewish Studies on a regular basis, he regularly offers special seminars on topics relating to the Bible, religion, and the application of the Bible in contemporary discourse on issues such as the environment and international conflicts. Prior to joining Penn State in 2006 Brady was associate professor of Classical Studies and Jewish Studies at Tulane University where he was director of the Jewish Studies program from 1998-2003 and director of the honors program from 2004-2006.
