David Flatto is a professor of Law, Jewish Studies, and History, with a primary affiliation in the Penn State Law School. He has served as a visiting professor and lecturer at Hebrew University Law School, NYU Law School and Yeshiva University, and a visiting researcher at Yale Law School. Experienced as an educator and lecturer, he was honored in 2003 with a Teacher Recognition Award from the U.S. Department of Education. His research interests include legal history, constitutional law and theory, and Jewish and comparative jurisprudence. His works have appeared in Yale Journal of Law and HumanitiesYale Law Journal Pocket Part, Journal of Law and Religion, NYU Law Global Hauser SeriesDine IsraelHebraic Political Studies, AJS ReviewCommentary and Tradition. During the 2011-2012 academic year Professor Flatto was a visiting scholar at NYU Law School, Tikvah Center.  He is currently completing a book entitled "Justice Unbound: Separation of Powers in the Early Jewish Imagination" (forthcoming Harvard University Press).
