Penn State Jewish Studies is proud to be able to co-sponsor a meet the authors event with the authors of ‘Jews of Iran: A Photographic Chronicle.’
‘Jews of Iran: A Photographic Chronicle’ is a beautiful photographic narrative of Jewish life in Iran. Photojournalist Hassan Sarbakhshaian, with the help of journalist Parvaneh Vahidmanesh, captured imagery of holidays, family gatherings, and travels in hopes of highlighting the complexity of the experiences of Iranian Jewish people.
Our very own Professor Lior Sternfeld, co-author of ‘Jews of Iran: A Photographic Chronicle’ will attend the meet the authors event alongside photographer Hassan Sarbakhshaian.
This event will take place on Wednesday, October 19. The photo exhibition will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center lobby. The event will continue with a musical lecture by an Iranian Jewish musician, Galeet Dardashti at 6:00 p.m. in the Eisenhower Chapel, Pasquerilla Spiritual Center.
Penn State University Press will attend the event and sell copies of this incredible book at a discounted price. Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
