Ruth Edelstein
Biography:
I teach all levels of Modern Hebrew Language at Penn State. I love languages, and am fascinated with different cultures. Teaching Hebrew is a passion and, in my courses, I create a learning environment that includes Israeli culture, current events, film, and the deeper meaning of Hebrew grammar. I was born in Argentina and received a bachelor of arts degree in early childhood education in Jerusalem, Israel. Israel was my home for ten years (and I wish I could still live there) before moving to the United States. In the United States, I have attended several advanced workshops on teaching Hebrew as a second language, including at Brandeis University, University of Minnesota, and Stanford University. I have been teaching Modern Hebrew for more than twenty-five years, and have taught Hebrew, Judaica, and Spanish in several Jewish schools and Jewish Community Centers in the United States.
